However, if you enter the WooCommerce administration interface, you will see different, sometimes confusing labels (statuses) in addition to orders: Waiting for payment, Waiting, In processing or Completed.

If you’re not aware of what exactly the status means in the background, you may easily post something that isn’t paid for, or your customer won’t receive any email information about the fate of their package for days. Let’s put order management in order to make your logistics work without errors!

1. Where can you find the orders?

All purchases received by your webshop in the black menu bar on the left, the WooCommerce > Orders You can find it under menu item. Here you will see a tabular list moving from the freshest to the oldest. [Screenshot location: The WooCommerce / Orders menu item in the left sidebar, highlighting the order list that opens]

2. What do the individual Statuses mean? (The most important ones)

WooCommerce's system is built very logically. Statuses aren't just for you, they're for you they also control automatic customer emails!

Pending payment: The customer put the product in the cart, reached the checkout, clicked on the order, but not yet paid (e.g. you have closed the credit card payment window or your internet is disconnected). What to do: You don't have to do this, don't mail the package!

Waiting (On Moon): This status is most often Direct bank transfer appears in the payment method. The order has been received, the stock has decreased, but the system is waiting for the money. What to do: Check your company bank account. When the transfer arrives, you'll have to manually change the status.

In processing (Processing): The most important status! It means that the order has been successfully paid (by credit card) OR the customer has chosen Cash on Delivery. The customer has received the confirmation e-mail. What to do: Pack and hand over the product to the courier.

Completed: The order is paid, packaged and handed over to the courier (or buyer). When you set your order to this status, the system will send a final email to the customer that their package is ready/delivered.

Deleted / Refunded: We will use this if the order has been cancelled for some reason or the money has been returned.

3. Step by step: How to change the status of an order?

For example, if the bank transfer has arrived for a “Waiting” order or you have handed over the package in “Processing” to the courier, you will need to update the status.

Open the order: In the Orders list, click on the name of the customer you want to change or the number of the order (e.g. #1234).

Find the Status field: On the page that opens, right in the top left box (General details) you will find a Status drop-down menu. [Screenshot location: Data sheet of a specific order, highlighting the Status drop-down menu with a red arrow]

Set it up and save it: Select the new state (e.g. Completed), then in the box on the right click on the blue Update button. The system will then immediately send the e-mail related to the change of status to the customer in the background. [Screenshot location: The “Order Actions” box on the right with the blue Refresh button]

💡 Common Error: Too early ‘Performed’ status

Many webshop owners make the mistake of changing the order as soon as the order arrives or the invoice is printed Completed status while the box is still in the warehouse. What's wrong with that? The customer will then receive an email saying “Your order has been fulfilled”. You will interpret this as meaning that the package is already with the courier and waiting for delivery the next day. If you only actually give up in 3 days, you can expect angry phone calls. A Completed set the status only when the package has physically left your premises.

Do you need individual workflows?

Your business model (e.g. custom furniture production) may be more complex, and you would also need unique statuses such as ‘Under production’ or "Waiting for supplier".

Open a ticket to peterteszary.com ticket manager and I will program your own, unique order statuses in your webshop, along with the corresponding automatic e-mail notifications!

In addition to orders, you can see various, sometimes confusing labels (statuses) on the WooCommerce administration interface: Waiting for payment, Waiting, Processing or Completed.

[587

post-5508","sgkb-docs","type-sgkb-docs","status-publish","hentry","sgkb-docs-category-webshop-kezeles-woocommerce
["GET
