What should your website be like?

Many people are afraid to start a website or get it made because they don’t know where to start or if it’s worth it. I can assure you that it’s worth it. The biggest cost of a website is its implementation. If you have made your website with someone, it is important to look around in terms of prices, because many people ask for a horribly expensive amount for a simple website.

Information is important

It is worth getting information about the previous works of the contractor, because it can show the quality of his works. If there are opinions, take them into account, because they can be talkative.

What is the purpose of the website?

Well, if you want a website for yourself, it's important to decide what your goal is with it. Selling, introducing yourself, or just want to run a blog, webshop? Questions like this can easily decide which way to go. If you just want a simple introduction page, it's not important to have the most exclusive, sparkling and flashing website. It is enough to have a simple, so-called One-Page page that shows you in a few sections. Nowadays it is not fashionable if your site is full of all kinds of design elements. Rather, a clean simple layout is the trend. This is useful because it makes your site easy to understand. This is very important, because visitors usually decide in 3-5 seconds whether your site is interesting to them or not. So if you have too many websites at once, you run the risk of being quickly navigated away from them. Try to design as cleanly as possible.

Are you sure you want everything?

Less is sometimes more. Turning to design, it's best to plan what the site will contain. What menu items and what sections will be on it. Would you like an introduction page, gallery, contact form, etc. If you design these, then you can see what you really want and it will be easier for the developer of your website. Take paper and pencil and write down the menu items, draw a sketch of what you would like to see on your website. There are therefore important rules regarding placements, but I will write more about this in my article on webergonomy. In a word, strive for simplicity and prepare materials for your website. You can save time for everyone. If you're not sure about something, ask. There's no such thing as a bad question, just an unanswered question.
