Oh, hey, hey. It's exciting to start a new website or improve an existing one, isn't it? The first step to this is often a consultation with an expert. This is where your ideas meet the potential for realization. But how do you prepare for such a conversation to get the most out of it and lay the foundations for your digital success?

1. Know what you want to achieve. – The aim is the most important.

Before we talk about any website or webshop, think about your main goal:

  • Why do you want a website? More clients? Selling a product? Sharing of information? Building an expert position?
  • What would you use it for? Would you write a blog? Start a webshop? Would you use it to contact me?
  • How's your target audience? Who do you want to talk to? Are they young? Are they entrepreneurs? Are they private?

Examples: ‘I would like more hairdresser guests in Szeged’, ‘I would sell 50 kinds of handmade soaps online’, ‘I would like to look like an expert in financial advice’.

2. Gather some inspiration. – Show me what you like.

You don't have to be a web design expert, but if you have a few examples, it helps a lot:

  • Take a look around the web: Which websites do you like? Why is that? (Not only the look, but also the mood is important.)
  • Which one don't you like? It's just as important to know what you want to avoid.
  • Colours and moods: Does your company have a logo or image? What colors do you like? What is the mood of your site?

Tip 1: Take screenshots or save links!

3. Make a sketch. – Even with a pencil.

Don't be afraid, you don't need a professional plan. A simple, pencil-sketched sketch can also help a lot:

  • What menu items do you need? (e.g. Home, About us, Services, Gallery, Contact).
  • What "blocks" should be on the site? (e.g. a large picture at the top, a list of services underneath, and then reviews.)
  • Where does the important information go? (e.g. phone number, e-mail address)

4. Think about the content. – What should be on the website?

Text and images are the soul of your website.

  • Texts: Do you already have a ready-made text about your services, products, presentations?
  • Pictures and videos: Do you already have a photo of yourself, your company, your products, your references? What quality are they?
  • References: Do you have a previous job or a satisfied customer that we can show you? (About this References You can find out more on the page.)

5. Write up questions. – No silly question!

Collect all the questions that come to mind. Whether it's technical or business.

  • ‘How much does a website cost?’ (A Cost of Website Creation You can find information on this page!)
  • ‘How long will it take to complete it?’
  • ‘In whose name will the domain and hosting be located?’
  • ‘What if I get stuck?’ Support You can find answers on the page!)
